About Broken Biscuits
Broken Biscuits is the UK’s leading disabled animal advocacy organisation, seeking to remove barriers for pets pursuing active and healthy lives.
We work with the animals so many dismiss as too hard to help. The broken biscuits; the ones not picked and left on the plate. So much has been achieved in our last ten years but there is so much more to do..
Changing attitudes. Changing lives.
Too often lives are put into question due to the circumstances surrounding the pet, rather than the injury that has occurred. Just like with disabled humans, a life changing injury or illness need not be a life ending one. We work to promote the many options available to treat and rehabilitate injured animals and restore their mobility so that they can return to active lives. Supporting carers, to guide them with post injury care. Keeping happy families together longer.
We do this by:

Supporting pet parents in their hour of need. Providing them with the knowledge, financial support and access to the necessary equipment to best care for their pet during recovery and beyond.

Promoting the potential for disabled pets. Helping to reduce unnecessary euthanasia, and to help normalise the idea of a wheelchair using, or otherwise disabled pet via our Roll Model Dogs. This includes media work, community visits, as well as fomalised training and treatment sessions can be held by visiting expert practitioners.

Developing safe spaces where pets can be treated, learn to use their wheels and interact. This includes the world’s first Doggie Skate Park, and Doggie Driving School, on our Lincolnshire Sanctuary.
